SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Shipping Your Kitten: What to Expect
When it comes to shipping a kitten, we take care of every detail for you. If your kitten needs to travel by air, we arrange transportation to the nearest major airport or, in many cases, directly to your home. Our team identifies the most convenient airport for your kitten and only works with airlines enrolled in certified Pet Safe Programs. Once the airport is chosen, we coordinate flight schedules, book the trip, and send you a detailed itinerary with flight times, layovers, and pickup information. On the day of travel, we personally transport your kitten to the airport, complete all necessary paperwork, and ensure they are checked in. You will receive regular updates via email or phone so you know your kitten’s status throughout the journey.
Is It Safe for My Kitten?
Many new owners worry about the safety and comfort of shipping a kitten. Rest assured: kitten transport is very safe, and with our experience, it’s often easier on them than it is on us!
Airlines take animal welfare seriously and follow strict guidelines to protect pets during travel. To keep your kitten comfortable, we include feeding instructions, food for the journey, and a frozen water supply that gradually thaws. Inside the crate, your kitten will have a soft bedding, a favorite chew, and a small toy or item carrying a familiar scent to help them feel secure.
Flights typically last 2–5 hours, and we monitor schedules closely, providing you with precise updates every step of the way. Most kittens arrive the same day they depart, often just a few hours later.
Winter Shipping: Will My Kitten Be Safe?
Shipping kittens in cooler months is completely safe. Airlines maintain the cargo hold at a comfortable temperature, generally around 70°F, and kittens are the last to board and the first to leave the plane. Shipping is allowed as long as outside temperatures stay between 20°F and 85°F. Many pet transporters also use temperature-controlled crates to ensure optimal conditions throughout the trip.
How the Shipping Process Works
Since our location is only 30 minutes from the nearest airport, we strive to make shipping as smooth as possible. We can often transport multiple kittens at once, making each trip efficient. To help us plan, please provide several options for pickup times and dates, along with the ID of the person authorized to collect your kitten.
After payment is confirmed, we book your kitten’s travel. Flight arrangements are usually made one day in advance to ensure safe conditions. Once the flight is booked, you will receive full details, including the flight number, pickup location, and times.
On pickup day, bring two forms of identification (driver’s license, insurance card, etc.) along with the airway bill number we provide. After receiving your kitten, we encourage you to contact us to let us know how the journey went and to ask any questions you may have!
